I participated in a secret santa activity in a german digital art forum (so as you probably have already guessed, this picture is from dec 2007 xD) I was so happy I was to draw Daniel (www.digitaldecoy.de) a picture. His work is really admirable. He painted two pictures featuring this little boy so I thought I'd do a fanart for him.
Wooww. This looks so real, and wow. I don't think I need to say anything about how realistic the whole thing is. I think you understand how flippin' realistic this is!! It's amazing!!
I'll just tell you what I like about it. xD My favorite part is how the light from above falls on the boy. Like, on his hair and nose, and how some of it shows on the ground.
What a masterpiece!!

My one critique (and your art fu FAR outstrips mine, so feel free to it!) is that the bark on the trees in the midground, while richly textured with gorgeous foliage, look to be two dimensional (the upper third to half) - especially compared to the beautifully detailed tree trunk in the foreground. For some reason, this little nit sprung out at me. I believe that if you induced a little bit of noise or irregularity in that area, it wouldn't 'spring out', as it were.
Of course, on a 1-10, we're talking the difference between a 9.9 and a 10... and I doubt my opinion counts for much.
