It's either a B-rate horror flick and he just threw her on the operating table and he's about to slash her up some good for some psycotic reason.
OR
It's a action spy flick and he thinks she is incapacitated, but in reality she's about to pop up and drop kick his azz to the operating room floor for being the Dr. Death of some loony terrorist orginization.
Either one I still fell like it's circa 1964. It's a great hokey drama scene.
